Conductive transparent foil
For smaller areas a transparent polyester foil with ITO coating is commonly used. Applications: LCD displays, membrane switches, etc. The foil has a resistance of 5 Ohm/sq. The coating can be applied on foil, galss and polycarbonate.

Windows with shielding mesh
A woven microstructure mesh is bonded between two layers of glass or plastic. This can be done by laminating or edge-bonding.
The windows can be provided with a gasket or be supplied with a frame for easy mounting.
Windows with sputtered ITO coating
Light transmission is 65-95%, depending on electrical conductivity. These windows can come equipped with frame and required EMC gaskets.

10 design tips for windows / displays and transparent foils
- Do not be afraid of low light transmission coefficients. An average pair of sunglasses has less than 9 % light transmission and you can still see very well through them.
- In general, a mesh provides higher shielding performance than an ITO coating.
- Keep the window as small as possible; rectangular windows are better than square windows because the distance from the centre of the window to the edge is smaller.
- Please inform us of the size in mm that you need and specify the free viewing area.
- It is cheaper to produce small windows so please specify quantities and sizes rather than square meters.
- For small windows or little displays you can use foils. It is best to integrate a foil in a display or to mount it onto the edges with copper tape 3201.
- We can provide windows with a water seal. Please indicate if you want the seal to be on the inside or outside of the window. It is also possible to have a separate water seal on the other side.
- If an anti-glare or optical coating is needed, please indicate on the drawing from which direction the user will look at it.
- Only use an anti-glare layer when the object is close to the window, like a monitor. For viewing windows it is better to use an optical coating.
- To prevent moiré-effects with mesh windows you can indicate the angle of the mesh. When you order a window you can ask us for a sample window and then measure the best angle yourself.
